We’re seeking certified and experienced drainage people to join our team of experts to deliver the installation, alteration, or repairs to drainage requirements on our Civil projects, including the fixing or unfixing of a drain to an onsite wastewater system (septic tank) or any trap. Development and certification within this high-demand trade may be available to those that demonstrate teamwork, handwork, and the right attitude.

A Mills Albert Labourer is like the glue on our site completing all those extra tasks that our Supervisors and Operators can’t do themselves. Our Labourers work tirelessly digging, sweeping, banging, directing, spreading, lifting, and generally pitching in wherever required to ensure the work gets done. To be successful as a Labourer you’ll be someone that enjoys hard, physical labour and enjoys supporting a close-knit team. 

This is a multi-faceted role unlike any other requiring a strong leader to be accountable for the lifespan of heavy/light vehicle/plant mechanics, fleet and supplier management, employee performance and development AND overall administration and reporting of the day-to-day operations of the workshop function. 

A trade qualified Fitter and Turner, or someone with relevant industry experience, to work on a diverse range of fleet, plant and equipment projects is required. Key tasks include but are not limited to: Operating manual lathes and manual milling machines, welding in Mig, Tig, Gas and MMA (any combination) for both repair and fabrication, and completing preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, projects, continuous improvement, new builds, fabrication, fitting, and assembly.

Digger/Excavator, Grader, Dumper, Hydrema, Scraper, Roller – We’re interested in speaking with suitably licenced (WTR) individuals that have experience operating heavy machinery. Mills Albert currently have sites from Whanganui-Ohakune south ranging from quarries, slips, river restoration, subdivisions, road rebuilds, seawall work, the list goes on. Variety and camaraderie are guaranteed!

Working closely with our Contracts Managers the Mills Albert Project Engineers are responsible for managing the technical aspects of our projects – from oversight of teams and tasks on site to developing the delivery schedule in order to deliver a successful project outcome for Mills Albert and our client. Our Project Engineers are Engineering Graduates with a passion for civil construction and infrastructure.

Keeping the traffic flowing safely by watching, and setting up barriers, signs, and cones. Talking to the public, explaining the works being done. Working with your own team to make changes when required. Great comms is the best asset!
